A remastered, expanded edition of the 2005 benefit album Our New Orleans is available for the first time on vinyl and digitally now. The new version includes five previously unreleased tracks by Davell Crawford, Buckwheat Zydeco and Ry Cooder, Dr. Michael White, Dr. John, and The Wardell Quezergue Orchestra featuring Donald Harrison. To date, $1.5 million has been raised from the 2005 release to benefit the New Orleans Habitat Musicians’ Village.

A remastered, expanded edition of the 2005 benefit album Our New Orleans will be released for the first time on vinyl on January 29, 2021. The two-LP set, also available then digitally, includes five previously unreleased tracks by Davell Crawford, Buckwheat Zydeco and Ry Cooder, Dr. Michael White, Dr. John, and The Wardell Quezergue Orchestra featuring Donald Harrison. A video of the late Dr. John recording the added track “Walking by the River” in 2005 can be seen here. Ellis Marsalis, who passed away due to complications from COVID-19 earlier this month, spent the last decade of his life doing what he loved—educating underserved children and young musicians—at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in the Musicians' Village of New Orleans' Ninth Ward. As part of its tenth-anniversary commemoration of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) has begun a ten-day, ten-home building blitz called Rebuilding America Street, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity International's AmeriCorps Build-A-Thon. Nonesuch and Warner Bros. Records staff members are proud to join the Build-A-Thon from Memorial Day through its culmination on Saturday, May 30. In 2005, Nonesuch released the benefit album Our New Orleans, proceeds from which supported NOAHH's building of homes for Musicians' Village in New Orleans' Upper Ninth Ward.

New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity dedicated the Musicians’ Village Toddler Park last month in the Upper Ninth Ward of New Orleans. The central walkway, Hurwitz Way, is named in honor of Bob Hurwitz, president of Nonesuch Records. A gallery of photographs from the park's dedication has now been posted to nonesuch.com/media, along with several of Hurwitz's photos of Musicians' Village. In 2005, Nonesuch released the benefit album Our New Orleans, which raised 1.1 million dollars to create new housing for the Musicians' Village.

Nonesuch Records President Bob Hurwitz shares his experiences visiting New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward to present Habitat for Humanity with a $1 million check on the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The money was raised from sales of Our New Orleans, the Nonesuch album celebrating music of the Crescent City, to aid in the creation of the neighborhood's new Musicians' Village.
